Should I print my BOL?
We provide all customers digital bills of lading (BOLs) through our online dashboard for easy access. BOLs will also be sent via email within 30 minutes of booking for long-haul shipments. While you may want to print your BOL to have physical documentation, it is not necessary in all cases.
You do not need to print your BOL if you've booked a local shipment. You can view it directly from your tracking page, and the Mothership partner carrier will collect signatures digitally from their mobile device at pick up and delivery. You will receive a digitally signed copy and proof of delivery (POD) once the delivery is complete.
If you've booked a long-haul shipment, you must print a copy of your BOL and provide it to your carrier upon arrival. We partner with trusted national carriers that require a physical BOL to transport your shipment. Please do not contact Customer Support if your BOL is not generated instantly--BOLs for long-haul shipments are sent via email within 30 minutes of your shipment allocation.
How do I view my BOL?
Once logged in, you can view digital BOLs from either your dashboard's Tracking page or Billing page. BOLs from both active and completed shipments can be found in either location. BOLs will also be sent via email within 30 minutes of booking for long-haul shipments. View an example of a digital BOL.

How do I print my BOL?
If you found your digital BOL through the online dashboard, navigate to the new browser tab to view the digital BOL. You may print it directly from your browser or download it to your computer.
If you booked a long-haul shipment, your BOL will be emailed to you and can be printed directly from your email client.
Can I use my own Bill of Lading (BOL) instead of the one provided by Mothership?
We strongly recommend using Mothership’s BOL to ensure accuracy and avoid any potential issues during pickup, transit, or delivery.
What are the risks of using my own BOL?
If a shipper-provided BOL is incomplete or inaccurate, it can lead to significant operational disruptions and financial penalties, including:
Adjustment Charges: Incorrect or missing details can result in carrier adjustment charges or delayed shipments.
Billing Errors: Missing information, such as the correct third-party billing address or Mothership shipment number (MS#), may cause billing discrepancies, adjustment charges, and delays.
Please note: Mothership's 3rd-party billing address may differ by carrier and may be updated without notice
Tracking Issues: Mismatched or incomplete shipment details on a shipper-provided BOL can cause errors in tracking updates, leading to inaccurate or missing information.
Will Mothership verify if my BOL meets legal or operational requirements?
No, Mothership cannot verify or provide support for shipper-produced BOLs. We do not offer guidance on how to create or correct BOLs outside of our system. To minimize risks and ensure a seamless experience, we encourage you to use the BOL generated within the Mothership dashboard.
