Updated liftgate capacity for Mothership Carrier Network and National LTL Partner Carriers | 2026-09-10

You can now book larger and heavier freight with liftgate service across select national LTL partner carrier networks. We’ve also updated liftgate capacity limits for Mothership Carrier Network shipments.

What changed

We’ve expanded the weight and size limits supported for shipments requiring liftgate service.

The updated limits vary by service and carrier network:

Service Maximum dimensions Maximum weight
Select national LTL partner carriers 86" × 60" × 96" 3,500 lbs
Mothership Carrier Network 86" × 60" × 94" 2,500 lbs

For Mothership Carrier Network shipments, freight may measure up to 86" in either length or width, with the other measurement limited to 60".

Expanded national LTL capacity is currently available through select partner carriers, with additional coverage rolling out over time.

Why this matters

Expanded liftgate capacity allows you to book a wider range of large and heavy freight through Mothership. This can reduce the need to divide freight across multiple pallets, arrange an alternate loading method, or use a different transportation service because of standard liftgate restrictions.

How it works

Enter the accurate weight, dimensions, and service requirements for your freight when requesting an LTL quote in the Mothership dashboard.

Available options will be based on your shipment details and the liftgate limits supported by eligible carriers. Because capacity varies by carrier and equipment, shipments approaching these limits may not be available on every quote.
