Local pricing updates with lower rates in popular markets | 2026-10-19

Starting Monday, October 19, 2026, Same-day shipments on the Mothership Carrier Network move from a single national rate card to market-by-market pricing. Each pricing region is priced on what it takes for carriers to reliably accept your loads and deliver on time.

Here's what's changed:

  • Each pricing region has its own rate table: Southern California, Northeast Corridor, Metro Detroit, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, Greater Houston, Miami, and Bay Area. Rates are lower in several of our most popular markets, including Southern California.
  • Location surcharges. Harder-to-serve ZIP codes, where it takes more to get carriers to accept loads reliably, carry a location surcharge. Core zones, where 80% of shipments occur, stay at the base rate. Surcharges apply in Southern California, Northeast Corridor, Chicago, Dallas–Fort Worth, and Bay Area, and are shown as their own line at checkout and on your invoice.
  • Download your rates: You can now download rates as a PDF or CSV directly from the dashboard.
  • Not changing: fuel surcharge, accessorial rates, the $4.99 booking fee, and Same-Day Rush (1.25x for LTL, 2x for FTL).

Base rates for one pallet going 10 miles, before and after:

Pricing region Before After
Dallas–Fort Worth $69 $48 (30% discount)
Southern California $69 $55 (20% discount)
Greater Houston $69 $58 (16% discount)
Chicago $69 $63 (9% discount)
Northeast Corridor $69 $73
Metro Detroit $69 $73
Atlanta $69 $80
Bay Area $69 $84
Miami $69 $95

These rates don't include location surcharges or the fuel surcharge.

Why we're making this change

Pricing each market on what it requires lets us pay carriers for the most reliable, on-time service, without raising rates across the whole network. Additional discounts in core zones are planned for 2027.
