The Load Profit Tracker is a feature in Mothership's Carrier App that helps carriers quickly determine the profitability of new load offers. You can instantly see the impact on your earnings by entering basic cost information.

What information do I need to enter?

To get started, add some basic information about your operations. You'll only have to enter it once and can make updates at any time.

  • Average MPG: Your truck's average miles per gallon.

  • Additional Cost Per Mile: Optional field for wear and tear or truck depreciation.

  • Fuel Price: Option to override the fuel cost from our zone-based fuel index.

  • Payout for Private Shipments: Enter the payout for private shipments to ensure accurate profit calculations.

Why should I use the Load Profit Tracker?

The Load Profit Tracker makes it easy to see your potential earnings at a glance, avoid unprofitable loads, and track your earnings across Mothership and your own shipments.

How do I access the Load Profit Tracker?

  1. Go to the Settings tab in the Mothership app.

  2. Navigate to the Profit Tracker section.

  3. Enter your costs (MPG, wear and tear, fuel price).

  4. Track your profits filtered by day, week, or month.

How does the Load Profit Tracker work?

  1. We add up all the miles on your daily schedule and multiply them by your cost per mile. That’s your cost.

  2. We add up all the payouts for the day, that’s your total payout.

  3. Your daily profit is the total payout minus total costs. When you get a new offer we show you what your daily profit would be if you accepted the offer.

  4. If you see that profit would decline (because the offer adds a lot of miles, but not enough payout) you might want to decline the offer.

  5. Important: Total miles include deadhead. That’s the miles from the parking location to the first stop. And from the last stop back to the parking location.

Why don’t I see the Load Profit Tracker for the first few shipments of the day?

We only show the profit tracker if the new schedule has at least 6 stops.

Where will I see my profits?

On an offer detail screen, you’ll see the estimated take-home pay.

On the earnings tab, you can see a daily, weekly, and monthly summary of our payouts, estimated costs, and estimated profit.

Can I use it to track earnings from my own loads?

Yes, it’s easy to enter earnings information for your own loads, too. Keep track of all of the shipments you’re completing throughout the day in one place.
