A delivery attempt happens when a carrier arrives at the delivery location with a shipment and is unable to deliver the freight for reasons beyond his or her control. Some common reasons include:

  • Delivery location hours were listed incorrectly

  • Delivery address was incorrect

  • Nobody was available to receive driver for delivery

  • A port is too congested for driver to make the delivery in a timely manner

Delivery attempts typically results in a delay of at least one day.

We charge a standard fee per local delivery attempt. Fees for non-local shipments vary by carrier. Click here for a full list of our accessorial charges and pricing.
