Mothership requires this information to validate that your carrier registration and insurance are up to date. We also use it to validate your tax information and business entity status. We don’t store your personal information; it’s automatically passed through to Stripe, where it is stored securely.
Additionally, your information helps us provide the best possible offers. For example, carriers with cargo vans won't receive loads that exceed their van's weight capacity. When we know your truck type, you'll receive offers that are suited for your equipment.
Why do I need to provide a DOT number?
All companies using commercial vehicles to haul interstate cargo are required to have a USDOT number, and we ask for this information to ensure our partner carriers are compliant with federal regulations.
Additionally, the USDOT Number serves as a unique identifier when collecting and monitoring a company's safety information during audits, compliance reviews, crash investigations, and inspections.
To register or renew your number, head to the FMCSA website. If you need to get an MC number, click here.
