Local Pricing Changes

On 9/21/2026 — we're changing how your Single Shipment Local LTL freight is priced. Here's exactly what changes, and how to read your new rate.

What's changing

1. Your freight charge comes from a rate table, not a formula. Today your price is a minimum charge, plus a rate per pallet, plus a rate per mile. Starting 9/21/2026, the price is a single fixed rate looked up by distance and shipment size and weight.

2. Oversize and overweight fees go away. We no longer charge separately for oversize pallets or overweight pallets. Size and weight are built into the rate table instead.

3. Most accessorial rates are going down.

4. The same-day rush cutoff moves to 9 AM. The rush fee now applies to shipments booked after 9 AM local time in the pickup zone, instead of 12 PM. Book before 9 AM and nothing changes for you.

5. A booking fee of $4.99 will still be charged on every shipment.

How to read the new rate table

1. Find your mileage row. Rows are 10-mile ranges (0–10, 10–20, and so on).
2. Move across to your shipment size column. Each column shows max square feet and a max weight. Pick the first column that fits either your size and your weight.
3. The cell where they meet is your freight charge. No minimums, no per-pallet math.
4. Over 120 miles, add $2 per mile on top of that rate.
5. Remember your midpoint mileage to calculate your fuel surcharge.

Example: Finding Your Base Price

Suppose you have a shipment with the following details:

• Dimensions: 48" x 48" x 60"
• Weight: 600 lbs
• Distance: 22 miles

Here is how you find your rates on the pricing matrix:

1. Determine Square Footage: The base of your shipment is 48 inches by 48 inches (4 ft x 4 ft), which equals 16 square feet.
2. Identify Your Rate Column: Because your shipment is 16 sq ft and 600 lbs, it falls perfectly into the first column on the matrix (Max Sq Ft: 16 / Max Weight: 800 lbs).
3. Find Your Distance Tier & Midpoint: Your shipment is traveling 22 miles, putting it in the 20 to 30-mile distance bracket. The midpoint for this bracket is 25 miles, which is the number you will use to calculate your fuel surcharge.

How the fuel surcharge works

The fuel surcharge is a separate table, and it's applied per mile on top of your freight charge.

1. Find the row matching the current diesel price/gallon in your pickup zone (it's based on the EIA fuel index published every Tuesday at 10 am ET)
2. Find the column matching your shipment size/weight.
3. Multiply the $ value in that cell by the midpoint of your mileage bracket, e.g. for a shipment between 10 and 20 miles use 15 miles.
   

Example Continued: Your base rate is $81. Let’s assume the current fuel price is $7.20.

4. Find the Fuel Surcharge Multiplier:

• Refer to the Fuel Surcharge Matrix.
• Locate the row matching the current diesel price of $7.20.
• Locate the column matching your shipment's tier, which is Column 1 (Max Sq Ft: 16 / Max Weight: 800).
• The per-mile fuel surcharge where that row and column intersect is $0.39.

5. Calculate the Fuel Surcharge:

• Multiply the per-mile rate from the matrix ($0.39) by the midpoint of your mileage bracket (25 miles).
• Calculation: 25 miles x $0.39 = $9.75 total fuel surcharge

6. Calculate the Total Cost:

• Add your previously calculated Base Rate to your newly calculated Fuel Surcharge.
• $81.00 + $9.75 = $90.75

This new pricing focuses on more deeply discounted rates on higher volume and longer distance shipments while keeping rates fair for low volume and short distance runs. In addition, the new rates align price with the high reliability you’ve come to expect.

What you need to do

Nothing right now. Your current rates are locked in through 9/20/2026. Once the new pricing is live, you'll see it automatically on every new quote in your dashboard.
