# How does same-day delivery work?

## Learn how you can get your freight picked up and delivered in the same day.

 

### Mothership's same-day guarantee

We love being the fastest freight carrier around. If you are placing a shipment in one of our same-day local [zones](https://www.mothership.com/coverage), you can get your freight picked up and delivered in a single day. To be eligible for our same-day option you must allow a 4-hour window between ready for pickup time and both origin and destination closing times. 

### How to book same-day freight shipping

Book before 9 AM local time in the pickup zone to get same-day at the standard rate. Your freight can be ready for pickup anytime that day. Allow a 4-hour window between ready-for-pickup and both origin and destination closing times.

### Booking after 9 AM (Same-Day Rush)

If you book after 9 AM for same-day pickup, select **Same-Day Rush** at checkout. A rush fee applies regardless of freight ready time. The fee is 25% of the shipment cost (1.25× the standard rate) for LTL shipments, and 100% (2× the standard rate) for FTL shipments. Same-Day Rush may still enable same-day delivery as an exception when the standard window cannot be met — it is not a delivery guarantee.

### FAQs

**Q: When do I pay a same-day rush fee?**

A: Only when you book after 9am local time in the pickup zone for same-day pickup. Ready time no longer triggers rush by itself if you book before 9am.

 

**Q: If I book before 9am, can freight be ready after 9am without a rush fee?**

A: Yes. Book before 9am and set freight ready anytime that day at the standard rate.

 

**Q: How much is Same-Day Rush?**

A: For LTL shipments, 25% of the shipment cost (1.25× the standard rate). For FTL shipments, 100% of the shipment cost (2× the standard rate).

 

**Q: Is Same-Day Rush a delivery guarantee?**

A: No. Rush improves same-day availability as an exception; it is not a guaranteed service.
