What is cartage?

Cartage is the way that our LTL carriers get shipments to and from the origin and destination terminals respectively. It is the local haul from the pickup location to the terminal, and from the terminal to the delivery location. Transit days typically indicate a shipment's time spent between terminals, or minus cartage.
