# Delivery Attempt

## What are delivery attempts?

A delivery attempt happens when a carrier arrives at the delivery location with a shipment and is unable to deliver the freight for reasons beyond his or her control. Some common reasons include:

- Delivery location hours were listed incorrectly
- Delivery address was incorrect
- Nobody was available to receive driver for delivery
- A port is too congested for driver to make the delivery in a timely manner

Delivery attempts typically results in a delay of at least one day.
